This conversation has been on my mind for a while, and I was extremely happy Eliza said yes when I invited her.

As some of you know I have a deep interest in artist residencies from my own personal experience and the work I do with artists in my program, The International Artist. I had A LOT of questions.
If you are curious about artist residencies, interested in undertaking one as part of your practice, even applying for one now, I hope you have the chance to listen to the conversation.

We discuss:
- The biggest mistakes artists can make when applying for an artist residency. This is such good insight. Eliza has assessed thousands of applications, she knows what she is talking about.
- The role artist residencies can play in an artists’ career path.
- What an artist residency is.
- The role of Res Artis and the work it does.
- The benefits of Res Artis membership and how members are vetted.
- Tips for starting an artist residency. Res Artis has a comprehensive A-Z handbook on this.
- The effects of Covid-19 on artist residencies and the role Res Artis is playing in documenting the ongoing impact.
- The ability to take a companion (partner, child) to a residency and what to consider.
- Why Eliza chose to work in the field of artist residencies.
- The residency Eliza was a part of at the Fukutake House Asia Art Platform, working alongside artists and chefs, a super fascinating project.
And much more!

Let me know what you think and your main takeaways from this wide-ranging conversation. Enjoy, and thank you Eliza!
