Low Again is all about those moments of weakness when you’re feeling a bit low and a beer (or whatever your drink of choice is) and a cigarette offer comfort.

The idea sprung from an old voice memo I found on my phone from 2018 when I just flushed my New Year's resolutions down the toilet by starting to drink and smoke again. It was not so much a disappointment in myself at that moment, but more of a realization that I still was craving these things to get me through those low moments. It’s about not being too hard on yourself in times of weakness.

This is one of those songs that I made in a day, on pure intuition. This rarely happens, but once it does it’s always special. I’m very proud of the result. I feel it’s fresh and different, but still sounds like me.

Lyrics:
[Speech]
I had some good things planned for 2018. I wasn’t supposed to be drinking anymore, I wasn’t supposed to be smoking anymore. And here I am, having a cigarette in my hand and a beer in the other, you know. That’s disappointment, right there.

Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go (ain’t shit I owe)
Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go (what you’re tripping on?)
(x2)

Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go
Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go (let it go x10)

[Speech]
So yeah, that was my little voice memo. I hope there’s some stuff here that we can use. That actually would be positive, I guess.

Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go (what you’re tripping on?)

Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go (ain’t shit I owe)
Oh I’m feeling low again
Ain’t shit I owe to them
They don’t wanna let it go
