Yuja Wang performs the seductive and swirling popular dance by Arturo Márquez together with members of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in a transcription for piano by Leticia Gómez-Tagle.

The piece was an encore from a concert from the legendary Musikverein in Vienna in 2024. There Yuja Wang and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra performed together both Stravinsky's Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments (a product of his neo-classical period composed in Paris in 1923-24) and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue (composed in 1924, and heard here in the brilliant jazz-band orchestration by Ferde Grofé).
