You Can’t Leave Freiburg Without Eating This! 🇩🇪

◼︎In this video, I return to Freiburg, one of Germany’s most beautiful and livable cities, for part two of my food adventure. Freiburg is known for its charming old town, stunning Black Forest views, and incredible local cuisine, and this time I dive even deeper into its food culture.

I started my day at the Münsterplatz Market, where I reunited with the friendly owner of Ludwig Hämmerle, a local vendor I met in my previous video. Just like last time, he surprised me with a gift, showing the true hospitality that makes Freiburg so special.

Next, I couldn’t resist the city’s most iconic street food, the Lange Rote. This long red sausage is so beloved in Freiburg that locals joke it’s almost illegal to leave the city without eating one. I tried it again, this time at the Original Freiburger Lange Rote stand, and it was absolutely amazing.

After that, I stopped by the famous Stefans Käsekuchen, known for having the best cheesecake in Freiburg. It was creamy and delicious, though in my opinion not the best I’ve ever had.

To warm up, I visited Alte Wache, a beautiful wine shop offering local wines from the Baden region. I had the sweetest mulled wine (Glühwein) of my life — it was like magic in my mouth.

Then I made my way to Brotbruder, a cozy artisan bakery, where I enjoyed a quick coffee and a slice of Rosinenschecke, a traditional raisin curd pastry that was simply delicious.

I finished the day at Hausbrauerei Feierling, one of Freiburg’s most popular local breweries, where I tried the regional specialty Badisches Dreierlei — the perfect way to end an incredible food tour of the city.
