This year ill be traveling all over the state of Texas to find the best chicken fried steak in Texas
This week i am exploring north/central area of Texas

Simple review:
Steak was nice thickness and easy to cut( a little bit of grissle on it which made it a bit tough to eat in certain places)
The thickness of the steak was perfect,not to thin and not to thick
Nice thin crispy perfectly light golden brown breading on steak .The breading was a bit flavorless,could use a bit more seasoning)
Gravy was perfect consistency, not too thick ,not too thin
I didn't like the idea of serving the gravy on the bottom of the steak instead of the top
It makes the eating experience more difficult
Definitely hand breaded and wasn’t frozen ,it was very hot as it got to my table( definitely freshly fried) ( i actually think this steak is prepared on a flat top griddle and not a fryer)
The size and portion was OK( i ordered a large,but not as large as i expected)
The price was 17.95 and was a good a deal that included mashed potatoes corn and an awesome loaf of fresh baked bread and butter
The mashed potatoes was homemade,but they were to watery and loose on the plate for my liking

EXTRA POINTS:
Loved the size and atmosphere of this place(a typical small town restaurant,where everyone gathers for lunch)
Very experienced wait staff,very fast, kind,efficient and friendly
The place is actual very spacious and inviting,i can this is where al the locals eat at on a daily basis( the servers knew everyone by name and what they usually order)
This place also has a general store inside it that sell all types of items from jams,jellies,preserves to t shirts and souvenirs
They also have a HUGE daily buffet that serves everything from comfort food to BBQ and Mexican
They also have fresh baked pies as well
I will definitely go back and try the buffet
