*What happens after a moose fight?*
And in this case, what happened to SOH after his fight with Gnarly.
What I really want to point out is after filming the fight and seeing the resulting injury, both of us were quite worried SOH did serious damage. We’d seen it before with Swagger back in 2019, and that injury shut him down for the rest of the rut that year. But SOH recovered well, when we found him the next day he was limping but not nearly as badly as right after the fight. We were amazed how well he was doing. I will write a breakdown of the video minute by minute for those who love to analyze it fully.
At :19 seconds SOH is walking with a limp but not as bad as we thought.
At :54 seconds SOH is clearly too sore to get up for the cow, not his expression, he is vulnerable being down like that.
At 2:07 seconds the cow moves on, not interested in a bull who can’t stand up to greet her!
At 3:31 seconds we see Gnarly ignoring SOH, there would not be another confrontation.
At 4:47 seconds we watch SOH walk away, showing us all just how tough and resilient these animals are. Fights and injuries are all taken in stride.
