The American movie producer Walt Disney had been a heavy smoker all his life. After he was diagnosed with lung cancer, Disney was treated with cobalt therapy but died of circulatory collapse the following month on December 15, 1966. "Fancy being remembered around the world for the invention of a mouse!" he bemoaned shortly before dying. When told that he was better off than H!tler because he had not k!lled anyone, Disney replied: "No, but I wanted to. Donald Duck for instance! There were times when I really wanted to wipe out that little monster!" The last thing Walt wrote before being hospitalized was "Kurt Russell" scribbled at the bottom of a printed page titled, "TV Projects In Production." A contract actor under a 10-year agreement with Disney Studios, the 15-year-old Russell was favored by Disney after starring in the film Follow Me, Boys! In his last filmed appearance, Disney praised the young Russell:
