Recorded LIVE on November 20th at Sotheby's in the Breuer Building on Madison Avenue in NYC.

Experience an extraordinary evening that brings together some of the most significant works of the late 19th and 20th centuries, beginning with The Cindy and Jay Pritzker Collection — a remarkably discerning ensemble of Modern and Impressionist masterworks assembled over nearly fifty years. At its heart is Vincent van Gogh’s Piles de romans parisiens et roses dans une verre (Romans parisiens) (1887), among the artist’s greatest still lifes, alongside Henri Matisse’s monumental triptych Léda et le cygne, Paul Gauguin’s La Maison de Pen du, gardeuse de vache (1889), Max Beckmann’s Der Wels (Catfish) (1929) and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s Hallesches Tor, Berlin (1913), one of his largest Berlin cityscapes still in private hands.

Also featured is Exquisite Corpus, one of the foremost private collections of Surrealist art, representing the culmination of a lifetime devoted to the movement’s radical imagination. Anchored by Frida Kahlo’s deeply introspective El sueño (La cama), the collection also celebrates the visionary contributions of Dorothea Tanning, Kay Sage, Remedios Varo and Valentine Hugo, artists who expanded Surrealism’s emotional and conceptual horizons.

The evening concludes with the Modern Evening Auction, charting the defining artistic developments from Impressionism through Abstract Expressionism. This sale explores the historic throughlines, conceptual breakthroughs and global dialogues that shaped modern art over the last 150 years.
