St. Fagans Y Fari Lwyd at The Old House Inn Llangynwyd New Year 2014

A Glamorgan traditional New Year custom. Y Fari Lwyd or Mari Lwyd (translating as Grey Mare) visits houses led by its attendants and accompanied by a group of singers. At each house (or pub) there is a singing contest between the inhabitants the Mare's party culminating in the entrance of the horse which thens causes a bit of mayhem whilst everyone enjoys some food and drink
