Hi Guys, thanks for joining us once again 🙌 This is one of my favourite driveways we’ve ever created, and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed building it.

The combination of materials and how they blend with the house makes this project really special. The main driveway is built using a driveway-grade Indian sandstone, laid on a solid mortar bed, over a 75mm deep concrete sub-base, and another 75mm of Type 1 beneath that — ensuring strength and durability for years to come. The paving was jointed with Flowpoint Smooth for a seamless finish.

The sweeping pathway was created using Italian Porphyry 6/8 setts from CED, laid in a traditional fan pattern design. Each curve was carefully planned and equally spaced, then hand laid on a dry mix, compacted and part-filled as we went. The detail in this section really showcases how versatile and timeless natural stone paving can be.

We also widened the gateway and rebuilt the entrance pillars using Global Stone Old Rectory Walling in York Green, giving the property a more open and welcoming feel.

This project is a great example of how bespoke stonework and traditional laying methods can completely transform a home. If you’re considering a new stone driveway, pathway, or full garden transformation, hopefully this gives you some inspiration.

⚒️ Thanks for watching — don’t forget to like, subscribe, and let us know in the comments what you think of the porphyry fan pattern!
