University of Bayreuth, June 11, 2018. Joseph Heath's aim is to apply critical social theory to the social sciences and economics. He is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto’s philosophy department, as well as at the School of Public Policy and Governance, and Fellow of the Trudeau Foundation. As the 2018 Wittgenstein Professor, Joseph Heath gave a series of five lectures concerning climate change policy, defending each of the following:

1. Liberal neutrality
2. Economic growth and weak sustainability
3. Climate change as a collective action problem
4. Cost-benefit analysis
5. Social discounting and time preference

Only the first lecture is available online (which is too bad, because he's an entertaining speaker!). An earlier version of lecture #2:

Heath has written a book based on the lectures, "Philosophical Foundations of Climate Change Policy," published in July 2021. https://global.oup.com/academic/product/philosophical-foundations-of-climate-change-policy-9780197567982
