The United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran on February 28, since then, Iran has been retaliating with missile strikes on Israel and U.S. targets in Gulf states.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (April 7) he has agreed to suspend the bombing of Iran for two weeks while accepting a ‌14-day truce proposal from mediators in the Iran war.
Trump said he spoke to leaders in Pakistan, which has been a mediator between Washington and Tehran and which had sought a two-week ceasefire.
Over an hour after Trump announced the ceasefire, Israel's military said it had identified a launch of missiles from Iran toward Israel and said it was working to intercept them.
Israeli media had earlier reported it was expecting Iranian attacks to continue until the Strait of Hormuz was reopened, bringing the ceasefire into effect.
