John Jakes (1932-2023) was a very prolific writer with great success. He published 60 novels across several genres, and a great many short stories, many of which were Science Fiction. However, the historical novel series «the Kent Family Chronicles» set in the American War of Independence, and «North and South» set in the American Civil War were his most successful, with over 65 million copies sold.
