In Log 66 (August 12), I reflect on the role of bad art—why creating messy, awkward, even cringey work is an essential part of growth. Every step of the process, from unconscious incompetence to unconscious competence, requires moving through discomfort and creating things that don’t feel “good enough”… yet.

In this log, I explore:
🎨 Why bad art is the foundation of good art.
🎨 The four stages of competence and how they apply to making videos.
🎨 My own struggles with aesthetics, structure, and learning the process.
🎨 Why discomfort is a sign that real learning is happening.
🎨 How walking (and falling) as a child mirrors the process of learning anything new.
🎨 Why permission to make “crap” is actually the doorway to progress.

I’m 70 videos deep, and still learning. The point isn’t perfection—it’s practice, process, and showing up.
