Jethro Tull’s “Bourée” is one of the most creative fusions of classical and rock ever recorded.
Adapted from J.S. Bach’s Bourée in E minor (from the Lute Suite BWV 996), this 1969 track transforms a Baroque dance form into a jazzy, grooving piece with a playful improvisational spirit.
In this P³ reaction, we explore how Ian Anderson reimagines Bach’s counterpoint through flute, bass, and swing rhythm — creating something timeless, witty, and musically rich.
