Cleaning Furnace and AC Ducts - Needed or Not?

Is cleaning your furnace or air conditioner ducts something necessary, is it worth it, or is this an un-needed service? The ductwork in any HVAC system will accumulate dust inside of it throughout the years but is this dust detrimental to the system or could it be left alone? My personal opinion is that for 95% of people, duct cleaning is not something they should consider. Kind of useless and a waste of money, plus can actually do more harm than good. In this video I also go over 3 things duct cleaning companies don't tell you.
