A24 vs. Blumhouse | Versus

Exit the big budgets but keep the Blockbusters; these two movie studios are beloved by filmmakers and audiences alike even while keeping their costs low…A24 and Blumhouse have managed to create some of the scariest films and franchises in talking picture history. In one corner you have Blumhouse, the production entity made famous by flicks like Get Out and Split, and franchises like Paranormal Activity and Insidious. In the other corner, it’s indie darling A24, whose art house has been turned into myth by films like the witch, Hereditary and Under the Skin, and they’ve released scary movies made by everyone from Denis Villeneuve to Kevin Smith. Two art-focused studios going at it in possibly the most ambitious Versus of the season.
