George, a weary scientist disillusioned with the rigid world of academia, decides to leave behind his structured life in Rotterdam after the sudden death of an old friend. Seeking meaning and reconnection with his past, he travels back to Africa to take charge of a neglected research station hidden deep in the lush jungles of Equatorial Guinea. There, he befriends a spirited orphan boy whose optimism rekindles George’s sense of wonder and hope. The boy soon introduces him to Corina, the compassionate woman running the local orphanage, and a tender connection begins to form between them. However, peace is short-lived when a figure from George’s past reappears, bringing old tensions and painful memories that threaten to unravel his newfound happiness.
