A peaceful forest picnic with my husband, daughters, and kind village friends.
We gathered firewood, grilled sour meat, liver, and mushrooms, and brewed tea over open flames.
Maneli helped bring our village neighbors whose home borders the forest.
We cooked rice on fire, picked wild mushrooms, and watched two bulls briefly spar before entering the woods.
Later, herds of cows and calves descended from the highlands, their bells echoing through the trees.
