This Is Unreal… | Public Land Bowhunting the Rut

This one hits hard.
We worked our tails off bowhunting public land during the rut long hikes, crossing rivers, and hours in the stand. When a mature buck finally gave us a shot, everything looked perfect. The arrow hit where it should. The blood trail looked great. Every experienced hunter we sent the footage to said the same thing, that deer’s dead.
But hours of tracking, a drone search, and grid walking later… we never found him.
Bowhunting has a way of humbling you when you least expect it. We made the best decisions we could, used every ethical tool we had, and still came up short. It’s the part of hunting nobody wants to experience, but every serious bowhunter eventually does.
Thank you for following along and understanding what this means to us. This one isn’t about a kill it’s about respect, lessons, and the reality of chasing whitetails with a bow.
