Kennedy Waweru Muchunu grew up in Mathare North, a young football talent with a bright future ahead. But when he lost his mother, his world fell apart. With no support and little income, he slipped into a dangerous life—peddling guns, joining gangs, and navigating the streets as a wanted criminal. A series of near-death experiences forced Kennedy to confront the path he was on. Instead of retaliating, he made the brave choice to surrender and seek a second chance. Even then, life wasn’t easy. Jobs were lost, relationships broke, and addiction dragged him into the streets. Yet in the darkest moments, God sent people his way—strangers, family members, and mentors who helped him find hope again. Kennedy went through rehab, rebuilt his life from the ground up, and discovered purpose in helping others battling addiction and street life. Today, the former gang member and prisoner is a mentor, community advocate, and living testimony that transformation is possible. His journey from crime to recovery, from addiction to purpose, is a powerful reminder that no story is too broken for God to redeem.
