We saw a lot of buying pressure hit the $SPY mid-day as the Supreme Court tariff ruling is coming into focus. The Supreme Court grilled the solicitor general over the legality of tariffs under the IEEPA, or International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The conservative judges showed signs of skepticism, and prediction markets began to show an 18% chance that the Supreme Court would side with Trump on this issue. If the Supreme Court rules that the tariffs are, in fact, illegal, the United States could owe upwards of $1 trillion in tariff refunds. We look at statistics that show November is one of the strongest months out of the year for the market. Trump indicated that the government shutdown is affecting the stock market now.
