She was among the earliest Muslim women, pledging loyalty to her father alongside her mother and sisters. Engaged by force to the son of Abu Lahab, Umm Kulthum faced unbearable humiliation and cruelty at the hands of the Qurʾan-cursed Abu Lahab and his wife Umm Jamil. Her marriage was broken by their hatred of Islam, yet her faith remained unshaken. This video tells how she endured their tyranny — and how Allah rewarded her with a righteous husband: the noble Uthman ibn Affan, who would become the third Caliph of the Prophet Muhammad family tree.

Her story reflects the honor of being part of the prophet family, and the emotional bond she shared with Fatimah radiyallahu anha, the youngest and most famous of the daughters of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. They grew up together, especially after the early passing of Ruqayyah radiyallahu anha, another daughter of Prophet Muhammad, and supported their father through the hardest times of his mission.

Despite facing hunger, exile, and the death of her beloved mother Lady Khadijah, Umm Kulthum served her family with unwavering dedication. She was not just a symbol of womanhood but a quiet pillar in Islamic history — someone whose life reminds us of the power of patience and unwavering faith. She is a timeless role model for all women in Islam.
