The first time Beth played chess and was trained by Mr. Shaibel when she was in the dormitory.
Beth was banned from playing chess by the head of the foundation, and could no longer play chess with Mr. Shaibel.

Pertama kali Beth bermain catur dan dilatih oleh Pak Shaibel ketika di asrama.
Beth sempat dilarang bermain catur oleh kepala yayasan, dan tidak bisa bermain catur lagi dengan Pak Shaibel.
Sampai diadopsi, Beth tidak sempat berpamitan dengan Pak Shaibel yang telah mengajarkannya ilmu catur.

Mr. Shaibel: "Those things are called openings." Young Beth: "Is that one of those ?"
Mr. Shaibel: "Yes. The Queen's Gambit."
