The Lagos Blueline Has Changed in 2025: Marina, Apapa, Mile 2, National Theater Stations

The Lagos Blue Line is a significant milestone in Nigeria's transportation infrastructure, marking the first electric rapid transit system in West Africa.
Operated by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), it aims to alleviate the city's notorious traffic congestion and provide a reliable
alternative for daily commuters.

The Blue Line spans 27 kilometers, connecting Okokomaiko in the west to Marina on Lagos Island. Currently, the first phase is operational, covering the 13km stretch between Marina and Mile 2, with five stations:
- Marina
- National Theatre
- Orile Iganmu
- Suru Alaba
- Mile 2

The full line, once completed, will feature 13 stations and is expected to carry up to 500,000 passengers daily. The second phase, extending from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, is under construction and slated for completion by 2027.
