Scared To Fix Your Own BMW? I Taught Him & Ill Teach You! (N51/52)

This was a really fun video to make, and I think youll really enjoy it! Being able to teach Peyton on camera should hopefully provide you with some insight on how you can fix your own BMW, even if you have NO EXPERIENCE!
In todays video we are fixing this 2008 E90 BMW 328i with the N51 engine. The repairs are the same for the N52, and very similar to the N20, N54, and N55!
Were going to reseal the oil filter housing, its leaking down the front of the engine. We will also be replacing the oil saturated upper radiator hose, the expansion tank hose, and the coolant flange hose that mounts to the cylinder head just below the oil filter housing.
On top of that, we will also be replacing the belt, the belt tensioner, and the idler pulley!
These are all great repairs to knock out at the same time, because they're all located in the same area. They also all fail together, the oil filter housing leaks down onto the coolant hoses causing premature failure, oil can also saturate the belt causing it to turn gummy and fail early, and the belt tensioners on this engine are known to fail and cause the belt to spit off, resulting in catastrophic failure.
