Today I’m trying ear candling, which is based on traditional Chinese medical theories about dampness and coldness – the idea is that the moxibustion is supposed to remove dirt from the body. It involves burning a flaming candle with smoke in and around your ear.

This is a scary treatment though ultimately harmless, just please be careful and only do this under the supervision of professionals! In Thailand it’s common to find the ear candling treatment at barbershops which provide a full set of men’s pampering services, such as shaves, beard trims, haircuts, hair washing, facial mask, ear cleaning, and more.
