Magnus Carlsen and Alireza Firouzja recently faced off in a series of private 1-on-1 blitz matches on the chess.com servers, and in this video I break down the very best game from their recent online mini-match! Of course it’s always fun watching Magnus and Alireza duke it out online, but this game features some explosive tactical shots that you do NOT want to miss!

In the game Magnus Carlsen opened with the Saemisch variation of the Nimzo-Indian Defense with the move 4.a3, and from there both sides went down the absolute main line with Magnus going for a fast f2-f3 and e2-e4. However, Alireza Firouzja came prepared and even played a bizarre knight jump to d4 into enemy territory as early as move 15! From there the game was absolutely insane, with both sides doing their best to destroy their opponent!
