Actress Kat Dennings brings soft-spoken memories, makeup tips, and calming energy to this lighthearted episode of Hush & Brush. Kat takes us back to the beginning of her obsession with makeup, trying on her mother’s gold lipstick as a kid, through today, when she dreams of starting her own line of lip stains. With tingly nail taps on every bottle, she shares some of her favorite products and techniques.

Kat’s husband stops in for a visit, but her relaxing ASMR techniques quickly put him to sleep. She shares why she chose to do her own makeup on her wedding day, and shouts out fellow Hush & Brush alum Brittany Broski as one of her favorite podcasters to listen to while getting ready.

“I feel like Bob Ross,” Kat says as she gently brushes each mic with her makeup brush. She lets us in on a brow mascara secret–brush down before brushing up–along with the soothing sound of the brush against the tube (“like a fly rubbing its legs together”). As a certifiable lip expert, Kat walks us through a variety of stains, sticks, and tints, before ending on the boldest one in her bag. Although she admits her lip choice has “taken us into drama town,” Kat keeps the vibes cool and carefree through her ASMR routine.
