Co-host of The News Agents Emily Maitlis discusses Tony Blair’s defence of the Jewish community and rise of antisemitism in the UK.

The former Labour Prime Minister said we must end the ‘Left’s unholy alliance with the Islamists’.

He also said certain Jewish communities are automatically ‘cast’ as supporters of Israel, making them ‘fair game’ in the eyes of antisemites.

Talking to Shelagh Fogarty, Emily Maitlis says the UK has become a place where 'savaging Jewish people’ is tolerated.

She goes on to say that you ‘can’t assume the politics of your Jewish neighbour’, just because of their faith.

Reports of antisemitism in the UK spiked last year after the Manchester synagogue attack, with a 2025 survey finding that 35% of Jews felt unsafe living in the UK.
