200 years after their introduction, an estimated five to ten million feral cats in the Outback have become Australia’s biggest ecological threat. Worse than even the introduced South American cane toads and European rabbits. Both of which number in the hundreds of millions.

Wherever Dingoes or foxes are absent, feral cats are the undisputed apex predator in the Australian Outback. Owing to the inhospitable conditions of the Outback, only the toughest and strongest feral cats can survive and breed. Centuries later, some of these feral cats have begun growing far larger than their domesticated ancestors and being mistaken for Panthers. They're rare, but they're there.
