Neo-Gothic castle for sale near the Abbey of Vallombrosa, just one hour from Florence, set within the Vallombrosa Biogenetic Nature Reserve, renowned for its ancient forests.

The 3,370 m² villa (up to 35 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms) was built between 1879 and 1887, designed by architect Corinto Corinti for Count Antonino Pio Resse and his wife Elizabeth Woodbridge. Inspired by the ideals of Romantic medievalism, it also features early elements of what would later become Art Nouveau. The Resse family left the property in 1892, and it was later converted into a hotel before being abandoned in the 1970s. Since 2003, restoration work has been underway.

The ground floor features grand reception halls, suitable for use as a lobby or restaurant. The basement houses old cellars and a kitchen, while guest rooms and bathrooms are located on the upper floors. The building has been under heritage protection by the Italian Fine Arts Authority since 2014 due to its historical and architectural value.
