GinChain Lower Garage Door Seal – Uneven floor under garage door

My parents lower garage seal was not sealing. There was a 1.5” gap on either side, due to the uneven, heaving floor. I searched for a solution, and came across this kit from Ginchain that might work.
The seal kit was about $160. Total cost was about $210.

This excessive gap is not exactly what this kit is intended for, but I made it work for my purpose.
In hindsight, I would not do this for a gap exceeding 1”.

Be aware, that we effectively lengthened the bottom of the door by almost 1.5”. You must check for clearance of the “door bottom” at the “opening top”. We had to make several adjustments to the door rails to gain a little clearance at the opening top.

Adding the 2” brushes to the outside of the door would have made the clearance issue worse.
But, if you turn the angle bracket around and put the brushes to the inside of the garage, it might be OK for clearances and a larger gap. Up to you to consider, if you have a problem door.

My brother Mat, my dad Al and I took about 3 hours to complete this project.
