Following the creation of the War Rig, Furiosa joins the service team for the vehicle. They find themselves under attack by a team led by the Octoboss, a former lieutenant of Dementus who has since gone rogue. He and his team repeatedly assault the War Rig using motorcycles with fans and parachute-rigs, allowing them to do battle from the sky. Furiosa, having grown up, but still disguised as a man, repeatedly runs interference, helping to keep the War Rig going, while also fighting back against the Octoboss's forces. Ultimately, she and Praetorian Jack succeed in fighting them all off, but are the only ones left alive in the assault. Furiosa then attempts to seize control of the War Rig from Praetorian Jack, only for him to toss her off, abandoning her to the Wasteland.

The Octoboss is a former under-boss of Dementus. He leads a small contingent of men in his charge known as the "Mortiflyers," parachutists and paragliders who trail the motorcycles.
The Octoboss rides a motorcycle with a large fan attached to the back. He also wears a demonic-looking, black helmet with large horns that not only covers his face from the dirt and dust of the Wasteland, but also acts as an intimidation factor when he attacks.

The War Rig has 615 horsepower and 2050 lb-ft of torque. It is built from older cars and contains a lot of weaponry, including most notably a large, spinning drill with four maces attached called the "bommy knocker". The War Rig is also equipped with 2 excavators located on frame to attack vehicles. The War Rig is stated in the movie to be powered by 2 V8 engines, with the second engine which is able to be started independently of the first engine to provide more power when needed. The Rig hauls a large fuel tanker decorated with a mural that can carry both liquid cargo and solid cargo like ammunition or food. After the War Rigs first run into Gas Town it is upgraded with a 2nd tanker with the original tanker being moved to the rear.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on 15 May 2024. It was released theatrically in Australia on 23 May 2024 and in the United States the following day. The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the story, action sequences and performances (particularly Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth)
