From the Rhône to the Eurotunnel 🚐🇫🇷 Final Leg of Our French Caravan Adventure 2025 Part 6

Welcome to the final instalment of our French Adventure 2025! 🇫🇷
In this episode, we begin our journey north just after leaving Esterel Caravaning, and as with most travel days in France, the first stretch is a bit heavy on traffic!

Our first overnight stop takes us back to Camping Chante Merle,https://www.campingchantemerle.fr/ a lovely familiar site close to the charming riverside town of Tournon-sur-Rhône. We enjoyed a few relaxing hours exploring the area and had a superb meal at New Darjeeling Indian Restaurant – highly recommended if you’re ever nearby! 🍛 https://www.darjeelingtournon.com/

Next day, we head north through Lyon, where (as always!) traffic slows to a crawl. It’s a long day of towing, but we eventually reach our next stop – the peaceful and very French Camping de la Fromentelle. The site is beautifully kept, with spotless facilities, and we loved the wine and cheese van that arrives in the evening – you can sit, sip, and savour the atmosphere. Before leaving France, we make a quick detour to the historic Circuit de Reims-Gueux – once a Grand Prix circuit and now a fascinating piece of motorsport history. We even parked up in the old pit lane for a few photos! https://www.amis-du-circuit-de-gueux.fr/

Our final night is spent at Castel Camping La Bien Assise – a fitting end to an incredible trip. Then it’s onwards to the Eurotunnel, a quick look around the passenger terminal (with a much-needed Starbucks stop ☕), and finally, we’re back in the UK… greeted by good old British traffic of course!

It’s been a trip full of memories, laughter, and adventure. We’re sad it’s over, but grateful for every moment shared with you all.
