Before I break down what this journey taught me and what’s next – come with me on the very last ride of this 167-day trip.

I started the day north of Koblenz and headed toward Völklingen. I reached my destination in nonstop rain around 4 p.m. – just in time for a visit to the Völklinger Hütte, a mind-blowing, fully preserved ironworks site and UNESCO World Heritage landmark.

It’s hard to put into words how impressive this place is – the steel stairways climb incredibly high, and the entire industrial complex is massive. Part of me wishes I could travel back in time just to experience what daily life must have been like in such a raw and intense working environment.

After exploring the site, I looked for a place to stay. I ended up riding about 40 minutes to my accommodation, where the owner kindly served me dinner – even though the restaurant was already closed. That kind gesture meant the world to me.

The next morning, it was time. I rode back to Munich – my home, and the final destination of this entire trip. It felt bittersweet. On one hand, I’d completed this incredible journey. On the other, “real life” was waiting. But hey – at least I’ve still got big plans! 😄

To wrap things up, I’ll show you what I carried with me on this 167-day ride. What would you leave behind? Or is there anything you think I missed?

Finally, I’ll give you the complete breakdown of my travel expenses – how much I spent on fuel, food, accommodation and maintenance.
