Epstein files: UK politicians debate Andrew allegations

Lord Mandelson has said his arrest was prompted by a "baseless suggestion" he was preparing to leave the UK and move abroad.

The former Labour politician who was held at a police station until the early hours of Tuesday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office says he will cooperate with the police investigation and “clear his name”.

It comes as members of parliament debated the allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the Epstein files, and backed a motion to release files on his appointment as a UK trade envoy.
