Need a way to get water from a stream or lake into your Winnebago Revel 4x4 or camping rig or need water for camp without spending a fortune? We show our simple and affordable DIY water filtration system for van life. This setup uses a small 12V Seaflo pump, two-stage filter housing, pre-filter, and food-grade tubing to move and clean water for showers, dishes, and other non-drinking needs. We run the pump using a portable power station. The whole system packs into a compact Harbor Freight Apache 2800 case. While we don’t use this water for drinking, it gets filtered down to 0.2 microns and is ideal for everyday van use. The system could work for car camping, overlanding, or any off-grid situation where you need fresh water.
