The dangers of improper use of amphetamines and barbiturates are shown: mental and physical deterioration, severe emotional problems, hallucinations, reckless behavior, the possibility of addiction. The causes of drug abuse are explored, three drug abuse victims are interviewed, and illegal drug traffic is discussed. President Johnson makes a brief statement at the signing of the Drug Abuse Control Amendments, July 15, 1965. FDA Commissioner James L. Goddard comments throughout.
