This contracted shoot I'm solo, and hunting invasive feral pigs, foxes and feral cats. The critters are smashing the oats crops and causing all sorts of mayhem. There's a bunch of kill shots in this video running both my 223 Remington and the 308 Winchester as I assist these property owners with a few problem animals.

It was great to be out again in my new Amarok 4x4 "Bruce" camping on the properties and riding around on my Suzuki King Quad AXI 500 ATV. Weather conditions were rather chilly at night to say the least, but it was nice and warm in the roof top tent curled up in my sleeping bag. The ability to camp up right among crops in the new rig really is handy. I've enjoyed building up the vehicle and the ease of use and simplicity to pack with it all now decked out is great. I save so much time with most of my gear staying in the vehicle now.

To fully comprehend the feral pig problem, there's an estimated 26 million of these pets spread across the country. That's no joke and a staggering quantity of these pests damaging agricultural industries and the environment in Australia. No these are not pets, can't believe I need to write that, but this legit gets asked or accused more often than you would expect.

I'm not shooting for human consumption on this trip, it is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacterial and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion, nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains.

My 308Win rifle is a full custom, the action is a Defiance Machine Tenacity, Triggertech Special trigger, 18 inch Carbon Six Barrel, Wedgetail Industries Suppressor, all in an MDT HTN26 Carbon Fibre Chassis. I'm running a sprinkling of subsonic rounds, which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projectiles. My thermal scope on this rifle is a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 and for the scanner I'm a Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 which is also 1280x1024 resolution !!!

My 223Rem is a Cat D firearm and I have no wish to show this one off further than what's in the content. I'm using 60gr Fiocchi EPN ammunition, and must say, for a 223Rem, it goes alright as you will see !!! But, it's not a 308Win which is my preferred calibre for pig work. I use the 223Rem in locations where noise is an issue and while not silent, it is more discreet than a 308Win under some conditions. The scope on this bad boy is the amazing Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL60, hands down my favorite all round scope for this type of mixed shooting work.

Shooting tripod I'm using is one which is available on my webpage and YouTube reviewed in detail here: https://youtu.be/sFrf30fze2E

I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the equipment being used, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits and licences when working under paid contracts in NSW. This isn't hunting. It's professional pest control. If you are seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details in your state. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

Please don't ask how much I earn or how to become a contract shooter. I'm not a business adviser. The requirements and information vary state by state. If seeking this information, research your own states legislation. I get this question a LOT, and it's not a path I wish to go down on social media.
