One of the smallest wine producing villages in the Côte de Nuits, Morey-Saint-Denis is often overlooked in favor of its famous neighbors to the north and south, Gevrey-Chambertin & Chambolle-Musigny. Even so, the village has been producing wine since at least the 10th century. MSD has a more homogenous soil type, and is home 4 of the Côte d'Or's famous Grand Cru vineyards. You can even find the occasional rare white from famous producers here like Ponsot & Dujac in a sea of red wines. We'll be delving into the history, law, and individual parcels of land that make the wines of Morey-Saint-Denis so special amongst collectors and enthusiasts. Expect a deep focus on lieu-dits, climats, Premier Cru vineyards, Grand Cru vineyards, and the most iconic (and some lesser known- but need to know) producers.
