1. Explore the Old Quarter - So much of Hanoi's charm lies in the intriguing colonial architecture, historic pagodas, joyful street vendors and shops found in this neighbourhood. When visiting, make sure to spend some time taking it all in.

2. Visit the Train Street - The Train Street in Hanoi is such a unique experience. I visited the Southern part of it during my trip and had a great time.

3. Eat Vietnamese food - I cannot begin to explain how delicious Vietnamese food is. Irrespective of dietary requirements, you can easily find amazing options for everyone in Hanoi.

4. Day trip to Incense Village - This is a must for all photography lovers. Also known as Quang Phu Cau, this small village on the outskirts of Hanoi is one of my favourite places in Vietnam.

5. See Temple of Literature - A peaceful temple located in the heart of Hanoi. It is divided into many sections so keep at least one hour free before going here.

6. Check out Hanoi Weekend Night Market - If you're looking to buy souvenirs, inexpensive clothing or jewellery pieces, this is the place to go. Make sure to carry cash!

7. Try Egg Coffee - I loved this more than I ever expected to.

The best places to try Egg Coffee in Hanoi are Cafe Dinh, Hidden Gem Cafe and Cafe Giang.

8. Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda - This is one of the oldest temples in Hanoi. I loved going there early morning and exploring the premises.

9. Leave a message at The Note Coffee - The Note Coffee's sticky notes concept is incredibly fun and unique. I recommend stopping by here for a drink and leaving a message!

10. Stroll along Hoan Kiem Lake - This is one of my favourite parts of Hanoi. When walking here, you can also check out the beautiful Ngoc Son Temple.
